Eytys is a Swedish-based sneaker brand founded in 2013. Eytys aims to be the perfect manifestation of the generation Y: a celebration of multidisciplinary creativity that comes from growing up with a heavy diet of everything and anything and always being accessible. Their sneakers take quality and comfort to another level while keeping the price affordable. The brand is founded by three high school friends all tracing their fashion roots back to the early days of Acne Studios.

Waldraud Introduces One Brand and Its Designers - Kyu
Kyu is a Swiss brand founded in 2014. The designers have their studio in the neighbour street of our store in Zurich. Kyu's products are characterized by their quality, design and innovation language.

Waldraud - Who are you?
Lisa & Daniel - We are a new brand based in Zurich. It was founded in the last summer in the design office „Daniel Hunziker Design Works“. At the moment we are two designers working on the products for kyu swiss design. Daniel Hunziker (Designer and Engineer) and Lisa Nissen (Industrial Designer).

Lisa & Daniel - There is a lot of inspiration in our work, but also from the trips we do when we get jobs from international companies.

Waldraud - What is your passion?
Lisa & Daniel - Our passion is to design products until they are perfect into the smallest detail. We see the design process as a totality of function, engineering, design and scenography.

Waldraud - What is the most challenging part of your job?
Lisa & Daniel - Maybe the most challenging part of our job is to make a product as simple as possible, to make it easy to produce, without losing anything of its cleverness. It should show playful lightness and surprise the user in a positive way.

Lisa & Daniel - The best thing about our job is the diversity of projects and the international customers. Today we do art direction in Rio de Janeiro, tomorrow we draw a chapel for a customer in Arkansas (USA) and then we create a new brand in Zurich.

Christof Plümacher was born in Essen Germany in 1963. He completed a formal education in photography. From 1995-2007, he worked as a producer for commercials and print advertising in Los Angeles, USA. Since 2007, he is entirely committed to fine art photography. Being exhibited at Waldraud, this limited edition is showed for the first time in Switzerland.

Circus Hotel is a contemporary knitwear brand. They produce cheerful and versatile pieces playing with lines, colours and graphics. The soul of the collection is a curious travelling woman. She absorbs the essence of every country she meets, melting everything in her personal flag. She is a modern nomad, her style is urban and sophisticated in basic and spicy tones. Circus Hotel produces in the historical Italian knitwear factory Maglificio Gulp.

New Arrival - Comme des Garçons Wallet
We have received the special editions of Comme des Garcons Wallet, which is done wih imagery by French artist Aurélie Mathigot whose main medium of work is yarn. Aurélie normally creates everything from large-scale outdoor installations to embroidered canvases that appear like textural paintings. The latter is what she has done for Comme des Garçons' cow-hide leather wallets. The wallets feature printed designs with partial embroidery that give each style a unique look.

New Arrival - Zilla
We have expanded our Zilla collection with the Rucksack, a redesigned typical backpack used by hunters and farmers in the Dolomites region of the Alps and home area of the designer Sylvia Pichler. By adding a zipper and a handle it is converted into a every day city bag. The bag is hand crafted by a family run business close to Bolzano in the Dolomites at 1200 m sea height.

Faux / Real is the New Yorker design duo Luis Decicco and Mari Ouchi. They transform unexpected materials into pieces wih surprising grace, vision and challenge people's eyes/mind through their work. The duo positions themselves on a fine line between the fields of art/design/fashion/interiors/archietcture and thus suit perfectly into Waldraud.

The beloved Mailmen from Toymail are soon back at our store. We will have Fairfax, Milksop and Buck. The others are sold out at the moment. Mailmen are global walkie talkies that connect families all around the world. You can send free voice messaging to and from the Mailmen through Toymail's iPhone/Android app.
